As a parent myself, I have notice that Sunday School materials and even vacation Bible School content has been watered down to exclude the gospel of repentance and acceptance of Jesus as our PERSONAL LORD and Savior. Mainstream denominations now prefer a: "God is love, so don't judge anyone by identifying their sins, to actually going all out and proclaiming that sinful lifestyles are from God", type of Christianity. My own son attended three vacation Bible Schools and never once was the gospel presented. I am discovering that often mainstream denominations are actually at odds with the gospel. A child can attend church their entire childhood and never hear the gospel message. Even more damaging they can be given an improper view of God, others and themselves. Indeed, the very definition of Christian love is redefined by modernism. It is with this motivation I am working to develop the Joshua Nooverdod Bible Club for children. The Joshua Nooverdod Bible Club although simple, seeks to present to entire gospel and even at times expose children to the common tactics the enemy is CURRENTLY using within churches. Here is the way I see how the church has begun a downward spiral. Stage 1 of degression: It begins with the Word of God. Satan, we see from scripture uses the Word of God. Churches began to stress the Love of God. Jesus gave us two commandments. To Love God and love people. That's it. YES that is in the Bible. The PROBLEM is it is not the whole truth. The Bible says to love God with all your HEART, soul, mind and strength. Next level of degression. STEP 2: Again, the enemy used scripture. the enemy told the church: "It is the Holy Spirits job to convict, God's job to judge and my job to love." True it is the Holy Spirits job to convict. But the IMPLICATION of this is that it was the Holy Spirits job to make people AWARE of their sins. Awareness of and conviction of are two separate things. Step 3: This NEXT level of degression no longer uses scripture. At this stage the enemy no longer needs to use scripture. The enemy already was allowed in. This is the results from what he told the church. "Because God is love and the Holy spirits job is to convict and make people aware of their sin and my job is to love people, the church stopped preaching to make people uncomfortable about their sins. Even about any punishment for sins. We just need to love which now means accept everyone right where they are at and keep them that way. Jesus died for the sins of the world. EVERYONE'S sins now are covered by Jesus." The result of this lie? Sinful lifestyles entered the church AND you no longer have to take personal responsibility to accept Christ as YOUR Lord. Just believe that he IS the Lord. Step 4 of degression: Celebrate sin and instead of assigning it as something of the devil, which would make someone feel uncomfortable, and thus be "hateful" instead celebrate sin as something from GOD! Step 5: Is "stop the haters" Hate is now defined as "telling people the scriptures that would INFORM them of their sin and or their eternal destination if they do not repent (turn) from their sin and PERSONALLY accept Christ as their LORD." In other words, the mainstream denominations are now OPPOSED to true Christianity. This degression process is the SAME method the enemy uses in OUR lives. You think he will start by saying to blatantly celebrate your sin? Of course not. The enemy starts with the word of God. With the Joshua Nooverdod Bible Club your child will be engaged in the Word of God. They won't have just a HEAD knowledge of "Yeah I believe IN Jesus", but a realization that HE can become their personal Lord, King, Director, Master and personally become aligned with His Kingdom".
